
Ida Zarrabi is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario (CRPO) who is fluent in English & Farsi. Ida is passionate about working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families. Ida offers different therapeutic modalities in a safe, compassionate, client-centered space, always striving to cultivate connection and confidence in the counselling process. Ida appreciates that life can be difficult sometimes and so can starting therapy. Coming to counselling requires a level of coverage, vulnerability and trust which Ida recognizes as being truly admirable.
Ida has worked extensively with a wide range of demographics in different settings supporting in addressing mental health concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, guilt, grief, stress, low self-esteem and addictions. Throughout her work, she has always strongly believed in the importance of a positive therapeutic partnership and is committed to supporting her clients in achieving their full potential for a fulfilling life, TOGETHER. Ida is a non-judgmental, flexible and competent clinician who takes a trauma-informed and strength-based approach in her practice. Ida is recognized for her ability to foster strong therapeutic alliances and aids others in identifying their abilities and acknowledging their agency as the experts in their own lives. Ida takes a holistic approach to assist individuals in overcoming communication challenges and empowers them to better recognize their triggers as well as provides coping strategies to support in stressful situations. Ida aims to aid individuals to develop resilience, resources and relationships while unpacking patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that are no longer serving them.
Ida implements a variety of therapeutic modalities through a tailored approach informed by her many years of experience to help navigate different challenging situations in hopes of meeting the client’s specific needs. These interventions include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Art and Play Therapy as well as Family Systems Therapy. She acknowledges that every individual has their own unique strengths and hopes to collaboratively cultivate and explore them through therapy to produce positive changes and emotional growth for individuals and their families.
Ida is a graduate of the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Physiology. Ida has completed an Addiction and Mental Health graduate certificate and holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology and is also a member of the CCPA (Canadian Counsellor and Psychotherapist Association). Ida looks forward to using her skills as a seasoned therapist to facilitate your healing journey!
